Natàlia Miralpeix returns to Barcelona after twelve years abroad, only a few days after the execution of a Catalan militant anarchist. She encounters a society irrevocably touched by the last years of the Franco regime, in flight from itself.
Still, she is determined to face old ghosts: the conservative, bourgeois world of her girlhood, where the cost of free love strains family ties, and women are confined to the domestic realm.
The long years of political repression have cast a shadow over the city's inhabitants, who veer between historical forgetfulness and the unease of fear.
